Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use destroywebsite.org. We keep it short because we collect very little. The site is operated by Zane.

No accounts

There is no sign-up or login. We don't ask for your name, email or password to play.

What stays in your browser

We use your browser's local storage to remember your best score and your sound (mute) setting. This data never leaves your device, and you can clear it any time in your browser settings.

URL mode

When you paste a URL, that address is sent to our server. The server downloads that public page once and returns only its text, headings and image addresses to your browser. Images then load directly from the original site in your browser, so that site may see a normal image request from you. Responses may be cached for about 10 minutes to make repeat loads faster. We don't store the URLs you enter together with your identity.

The bookmarklet

The bookmarklet loads our game script into the tab where you click it. The page content it reads stays in your browser. We don't receive the contents of the page you are on.

Analytics

In production we use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic, and a self-hosted OpenPanel instance for product analytics, such as which features are used. These tools may record things like pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and in-game events. Analytics are not loaded in development builds. You can block them with a browser privacy setting or a content blocker, and the game works fine without them.

Hosting and logs

The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP address and request details to serve pages, protect against abuse and keep standard logs. We don't use this to identify individual players.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't show personalized ads.
• We don't build profiles tied to your real identity.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of the page.
