Games Like Destroy Any Website: 6 Ways to Wreck a Webpage

Smashing a web page for fun is a small genre with a surprisingly long history. If you liked the recent wave of "destroy any website" games, or you want something different, here are six ways to wreck a page. We made one of them, so we say so up front. Everything below is described in general terms, and these are independent projects with no affiliation to us.

1. Destroy Website (this site)

That's us: a free browser game with a jetpack character and seven weapons. It's an independent take on the idea. What is different here is how you start and how you compete:

It is a solo game for now, with no multiplayer. Play it here or read the how-to-play guide.

2. Sprite Fusion's Destroy Any Website

Released in September 2026 by Hugo Duprez and published at destroy.spritefusion.com. It went viral quickly and is the game that popularized the idea again. It has a jetpack, seven weapons and multiplayer for up to six players, which is its biggest difference from ours. If you want to wreck a page with friends in the same room, check it out. We are not affiliated with it.

3. Kick Ass – Destroy the web

The old-school original, at kickassapp.com. It dates from around 2010 and works as a bookmarklet: you fly an Asteroids-style ship over the page you are on and shoot it to bits. It is simpler and more nostalgic than modern entries. Its bookmarklet approach is the ancestor of ours.

4. Desktop Destroyer

A classic Windows desktop prank game. Instead of a web page, your whole desktop becomes the target, with its icons and windows. It is a good pick if you like the idea of wrecking something familiar but don't need a browser to do it. Search for it by name if you are curious; it exists in several versions from different authors.

5. Browser physics sandboxes

A broader category: small demos, often made by web developers, that attach a physics engine to the elements of a page so they fall, collide and pile up. They tend to be more experiment than game, with fewer goals or scores, but they are a neat look at how a page is built. Search for "page physics demo" or "DOM physics" to find them.

6. The DevTools trick: document.designMode

Not a game, but a fun way to "break" a page without any tool. Open your browser's developer console on any site and type document.designMode = "on", then press Enter. You can now click and edit any text on the page, delete headlines or rewrite the news. It only changes your own view, and a reload undoes it, so it's a handy prank for screenshots. Only edit pages for fun and don't present the result as real.
